Hello everyone at Jam Session!
My name is Robert.
I live in Quito Ecuador (by way of California) and I have been playing the guitar since October '06. I bought my guitar here in Quito. It's a classical six string made by a local guy named Rosero Nunez. It's got some buzzes, but I like it and I'm only learning so it works great for me.
All my learning has been through the internet. It's a wonderful tool because there is absolutely no sheet music available in Quito (to $hip it i$ in$ane). Eventually I do want to learn to play world music (especially Flamenco, and Reinhardt's gispy/early french swing guitar), but for now I am sticking to the music styles I am most familiar with - and what is easily available via the web!
I know about 12 songs and some random scales, but even less when it comes to technique and theory. Maybe in the future I'll be able to share my new found knowledge, but for now it looks like I'm just going to be the newbie :)

Thank you all for the welcome! I've been checking out the lessons so now I'm trying to remember all the notes on the fretboard. I'm not exactly sure why I'm doing this, but it seems important! :)

I have already spent way too much time on these boards :o
I'm behind at work. My inbox is full of unheard messages. I haven't exercised. I'm eating doritos and tuna from the can cuz i can't be bothered to take the time and make a decent meal. And my poop paper trashcan (we can't flush poop paper in Ecuador) is overflowing.
By this time next week I'll probably have been fired, disowned and disinherited, infected with hepititus and on the verge of having a serious heartattack.

But I have learned all the notes down to the fourth fret on all 6 strings! This place rocks!!!
