Well I guess I'm just a laid back guy who loves music, I love listening to how instruments mesh together, I play a lil piano but Im a guitarist through and through. Been playing for four years, still don't know a lick of theory or anything lol, I don't know whether it's just lack of interest in it or the fear if I learn how songs should progress it will kill my creativity, although I do know what notes I'm playing now thanks to this sites lessons :). Anyways that's a little bit about me.

oh and btw can anybody explain the avatar and titles thing, I know you have to have a certain amount of post to have one, I just don't know how many, and I looked in the faq section but couldn't find anything, might have just overlooked it though

User Ranks and Board Privileges

Here are the member ranks and board privileges as I have them set at this point in time for this version of Jam Session.

Each successive rank includes all privileges from previous ranks, so I'm just going to list those added with each new rank.

Unregistered / Not Logged In (NLI)

Rank = Guest

Unregistered and NLI users can browse the forum, use the search function, use the 'email this page' function (under Thread Tools) and view the public calendar. All other functions are disabled.

Users Awaiting Email Confirmation

Rank = Standing in the Queue

In order to avoid bogus user accounts, newly registered users are required to confirm their email address by clicking an activation link sent in an email to the address used at sign up. Be sure to sign up with a valid email address. Each user account is also required to have a unique email address in order to discourage multiple screen names for the same user.

Users awaiting confirmation can browse member profiles and browse the member list.


The remaining ranks apply to users who have registered, confirmed their email address and are logged into their account.


0 - 9 posts

Rank = New Patron

Privileges = Birthday displayed on Calendar (optional), added to memberlist, can edit user profile, can post threads, can post replies to threads, can download attachments, can rate threads, can post polls, can vote on polls

10 -19 posts

Rank = Club Regular

Privileges = can use signatures, can upload attachments, can upload/link to custom avatar, can send and receive private messages, can post events on calendar, can edit/delete own events on calendar

20 - 29 posts

Rank = On the Guest List

No new privileges

30 - 49 posts

Rank = Occasional Jammer

No new privileges

50 - 99 posts

Rank = Frequent Jammer

No new privileges

100 - 199 posts

Rank = Band Member

privileges = can upload profile picture

200 - 299 posts

Rank = Featured Soloist

no new privileges

300 - 499 posts

Rank = Band Leader

no new privileges

500 - 749 posts

Rank = Headliner

No new privileges

750 or more posts

Rank = Legendary Performer

privileges = at 1000 posts, can choose own title

You and me both, I stink at playing and know very little theory. But I won't stop playing. I play what I can and what I wan't. It's just something I love to do. Welcome to the forums man, cool to have another similar personality around.

Most peopel here are Laid back lovers of music though...I think though :)
