Ok, im 38 yrs old....been playing the drums since I was 9yrs old..My daughter who is 8yrs old told me she wants to learn the guitar. So we went looking...well, I decided...What the heck...ive always wanted to play also...so im going to get me a guitar as well. were looking at an Ibanez for her ( about a 200.00 guitar) and me, im thinking either a Schecter, or Jackson ( Wife told me my limit was 750.00 on my guitar) and we have already decided on a Line 6 Spider III 30watt amp to get us going.

Im looking at a Schecter C-1FR or a Jackson Pro Series DK2 Dinky, or a Jackson Pro Series DK2S Dinky..not real sure just yet though. I dont know diddly doo doo about playing a guitar, but have the desire and fire to do it. Its going to be a blast to learn with my daughter also. If you have any thoughts on either of the 3 guitars im thinking of, please dont hesitate to let me know. Glad to be a part of this forum and im sure I will get tons of great advice....thanks, Shawn

I tell ya man, pawn shops are an excellent way to go. All you have to do is try them and and make sure its what you want. I got my first 3 amps at a pawn shop. I just recently broke down and bought a brand new half stack.

Thanks broke_my_strat, ive been checking out the pawn shops in about a 50 mile radius and havnt seen anything to my liking so far, but yea, that would be a good place to get one..I did see a marshall half stack at a pawn shop here in muskogee, and you could actually but it used for 55.00 more than you can buy it new at a local guitar shop..lol but yea, i know what ya mean...i have seen some good deals in a pawn shop...
