I have an epi strat copy that im in love with that is a HSS configuration. The only thing is that the only two positions that sound good are the second position, between the first two single coils, and the full bridge bucker. Which i dont mind at all it's still very versitile even with just those two settings. But just curious if i could wire it like that with a three way switch?

so the selector all the way up towards the neck would be a combo of the two singles, the middle would be a combo of those two + the bridge on full, and the last position would be the humbucker alone of course....

im just curious if somthing like that would be possible because that would make this guitar just that much more badass :drunk:

I'm not an expert at all, but since nobody answered yet... I think so. In fact I don't see why you couldn't. But how to do it, I don't know. Talk to the dude at your local repair shop. It shouldn't be expensive and better have a professional working on your guitar than screwing it yourself ;)

You could test it out simply enough, if you're handy with a soldering iron.

I think you should be able to just hook up the lead from the middle pup to the same post on the switch as the neck pup and play with the switch in the first (neck only) position and see if the tone is the same with that combo of the two. If you want to experiment with it, just treat the 5-way switch as a 3-way and just use the first three positions.

I would put the humbucker lead where the middle pup lead presently is and combine the other two where the neck pup is. In theory, that would put the two singles together and add the humbucker in the second switch position and humbucker-only in the third position on the switch.

If you try that out, let us know how it works. Good luck!
