Well, I'm new and I must say after reading almost every thread in many of the forum catagories I looks like a good place to hang up my hat (the other place I tried that has "U" in it's first name almost turned me off guitar forums lol). Anyhow, I am a beginner, decided now I've hit the 50s mark I need a hobby. Always did want to play but lessons as a kid turned me off ( we all wanted to be J Lennon, K Richards or J Hendrix but one cheap acoustic and lessons featuring "beautiful brown eyes, camptown races do dah" just did not do it for me. lol). I'm just looking at learning for my own amusement, I'll leave the "i wanna be a rockstar" to those young enough to acheive that kind of dream. I'll settle for sitting on the porch and and noodling some blues solos. :D I got a cheap Peavey strat clone (arghhh, this peice of junk should go in the "worst buy" thread... sorry to any Peavey fans, and looking for an addition (already lol). I'll post that in Tools.

Gosh, thanks for the welcomes. I like the place already.

Scott, I'll pass on the strat (my clone plays okay when it stays in tune and is fine for a beginner) untill I"m a better player and can afford a real one aka MIA or a good MIJ. B'sides, looking for a cheap LP so I have both my favourite guitar types..... and i'll suck at playing either. lol
