This is a bass riff I wrote awhile back. I'm not sure where I'm going with it. It reminds me of Tool.

I don't know either Blake, but it,s a really cool beat. You should try and do something with it.

Thanks guys. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Or if someone feels inspired to record some guitar on top of it...

Yep, I took the whole audio/video tour.

That is a catchy bass phrase. Whatever lays on top of that will have to display some serious attitude as a contrast.

Is that a Music Man Bass that you're playing?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! Yep, that's a StingRay. I got it two weeks ago.

Dang man, that is a wonderful line! I'd love to try something on that.

One idea would be to play the same riff in different keys. Key changes are a great way to keep a song interesting.

Also, make a "major" variance of that riff for some kind of "bridge" section. I'm no songwriter - just some ideas.

Thanks guys. Who knows where this will wind up going. I'll do another recording if I come up with more.

I'm thinking of picking it up a little as a prechorus, maybe by strumming the D and G strings instead of plucking the individual notes.
