My project strat got a new warmoth neck today. It's a maple/kingswood neck and looks pretty cool. It has a very nice pattern in the wood that the pics don't do justice to. I think I'm going to stain it a darker color (a cherry or walnut) to match up a little better. After that, wire it up,set it up, and play it. I'm pretty excited. :toohappy:
(They're links because pics are kind of large)

Kingswood? I have never heard of that wood....what kind of tone is it supposed to have...It kinda looks like ebony so Im gonna guess it sounds like that too.

Nice! Did you strip the body yourself? Details, man, we need details! What kind pups are you using?

Yes, I stripped off the paint myself. This was my first electric guitar (US Peavey predator), but all that stayed was the body. The pickups are two SD cool rails and one dimarzio fast track 2.
I will admit I was mighty pleased with the warmoth neck. It feels like it will be pretty smooth and a looker on top of that.

Did you put in any coil splitting?

I don't think I'll do any coil splitting. I'm going to wire them in parallel and have my tones adjust neck/middle & bridge.
I just found out it may be raining this weekend. Hopefully I get a break to do a re-stain soon. Seeing it this close to done really gets me itching to play it.

A stain on that is going to look killer. Looking forward to more pics as it's finished.
