I wanted to make the opening on the backplate of my strat bigger, because when I change strings the springs pull the trem thingy back too far, requiring me to remove the backplate in order to change the strings. This is a hassle. So I went to Ace Hardware and got a V bit for my router.

To accomplish this, I screwed the backplate down onto a piece of scrap plywood, and covered most of it with some wide cellophane packing tape, to protect from scratches.
Yep, I've got 2 black and 2 silver springs. How cool is that?

Now it looks like the hole was melted in it by my hot playin!
