There was this guy down the road who had a street rod.. I had a few street rod magazines that I never read so I went down to give them to him..
I heard that he had a band so when I was there I asked if he minded me coming out a few times to his practices to play..(it had been four years since I picked up my guitar)..he said come down stairs for a second..
He had an old Jackson guitar and a 1961 Sears Sivertone Danelectro amp.. He said play this...I thought he was nuts.
Out of the blue I pulled off a few SRV licks and some tragically hip tunes and asked if I could still come to practice..
I've been with the band 2 years now.
