Hi! I'm a sophmore in college and I am going to audtion for my school's music ed. program. I play classical guitar and need help finding pieces for the audition.I've never auditioned for anything and have no idea where to start. I dont want to pick something so hard that I forget it during the audition. But I'm not sure what level they are looking for and I dont want to look like a joke picking a piece that is too easy. please help! thank you for any suggestions.

Just recently got a classical guitar. I dont think it really matters though. With an audition, play something you can play really really well. I dont know about you, but I am more impressed with an easy song played well than a hard song played poorly or even less than perfect.

Not sure what level you're at but there's lots of arrangements out there for Bach and that always impresses. If you need something a bit simpler try one of the Segovia studies. If the people hearing your audition don't know anything about classical guitar try a popular piece or a Spanish thing. I like seeing people extend themselves but that can be dangerous.

Yea the best Spanish/World music I know out there is Strunz and Farah, but they use picks for most of the stuff. And it probably wouldnt impress a serious classical guitarist, because of that.
