I've just finished installing a set of emg's into one of my guitars, however I've clearly done something wrong, because the pickup selector isn't working as it should. I figured I might as well see if somebody knows what the problem is, before I rip it all out and start again from scratch.
I've followed the "diagram 7" from this (http://www.emginc.com/downloads/wiringdiagrams/9_Basic_Wiring_Diagrams.pdf) guide, however I've clearly done something wrong. Basically the pickup selector isn't working as expected. When it's in the bridge position, both pickups are working... when it's in the middle position, only the bridge pup is working, and when it's in the neck position, neither pup is working.
I'm basically a noob when it comes to electronics... I was just following the diagram without really knowing what wire does what. As far as I can see, it's wired up exactly the same as the diagram with no shorts anywhere, but obviously something must be wrong, because it's not working as expected.
I'm hoping some electronics expert will be able to tell me what I must have done wrong to get these results with the selector.... because as far as I can see, I did everything correctly. My only other real option is to pull it all out, and start again. Any kind of help would be much appreciated.
