I'm thinking about getting some recording software on my computer but i don't know much about what's available. I've heard good things about cakewalk and another not so well known called Acid. What's good for Mac's? Thank's for the help.
p.s. how much $ do these things run for.

I don't know what most of the Mac people are using.
Pro Tools is the "top dog" of recording software and is specifially desinged for the Mac. It's got a top dog price tag to go along with it.
I've never used ACID, but a lot of folks swear by it.
You might also look into Logic and Cubase.
Also, I'd recommend checking out Audio Forums (http://audioforums.com). You'll probably get some good and up to the minute info over there.
