I read the article you hypertexted. I wonder....ever heard of an Aphex Aural Exciter?? They've been around since the 80's. The idea is, you take your final mix of your song, run it thru this thing. It analyzes the music and "synthesizes" the harmonic high frequencies above the frequencies available on your mix, making it really crisp in the high freeks. They made them later for bass sounds too. I think a lot of remastered CDs over the years were "Aphexed" and other stuff too. Thats sort of what I think this new CD format is, but more complicated. It was a good article. Thanks. Anybody ever use one of these?? I new a producer once who over-aphexed his final mixes. I guess he suffered from high frequency hearing loss.
