In the process of recording our band for DEMO purposes only to get gigs...hopefully.

But, I was pretty amped about recording...and I think it flat out sucks.

Accept when it is done. The finished product will be very cool though....hopefully worth all this tremendous amount of work that goes into it.

I hate being taken out of my element...no back vocalling...(add later) headphones...etc.

Really have felt out of my element lately because we have been recording...hopefully we are able to get gigs after all this work.

whew....

I hear ya man! Recording blows. Here are how my recording sessions go.

1) I screw up, re-take.
2) Sound guy screws up, re-take.
3) Guitar gets out of tune during a solo, re-take.
4) Mic quits working, re-take.
5) I screw up, re-take.
6) Mixer screws up, re-take.
7) I screw up, re-take.

Pretty much in that order. By the end of the day, my fingers are bleeding, we have only gotten one song recorded, we're tired, my fingers are bleeding, we're tired, and my fingers are bleeding.

That's a typical recording day. It's all worth it in the end though when you get to play your own CD in your car.
Good Luck!

I felt pretty much the same way.

I have my own studio now, so I guess that makes a difference than heading to the studio ya pay for.

Now I find the challenge of recording all the way through mastering is very stimulating. I can do things in my own studio that would cost a bundle in a commerical room.

I use a stand alone DAW VS840GX and Sonar XL on my computer.
The possiblities are endless. The editing and bouncing took me a while to learn but now it's one of my favorite areas of recording, just behind the actual recording of the instruments.

I really get off on recording. To bad I'm not 'real' good at it yet.
