anyone know how to import MIDI drums into pro tools? im just messing about with recording, and using MIDI to provide the instruments i can play (keyboard bits, etc), and i want to import the drums. it wont let me change the programming of the track to percussion, so im left with the usual 128 midi tracks (guitars, pianos, basses, etc). ive got a program which converts MIDI to wav, which i used with the drums, but it made them ever so slightly out of time, enough to make the whole thing sound crappy.
anyone got any ideas? thanks for any help

If were gonna do what you were talking about, I would hope I could import a midi file, with each drum on a separate track. If it didn't come already prepared that way I would use some "interpolation" feature to separate each midi note number to separate tracks. Then each drum track can be edited in any way. Maybe some or all of the tracks need to be offset a few ticks.

Lucus.
One of my sound cards is Soundblaster Live.
It comes with a decent recorder.
If you have Soundblaster Live, the recorder is on your computer.

It has an option on it called 'What U Hear'. Find your recorder or download one of the free ones from the internet.

Choose the option 'What U Hear' and play your drum piece as you would a cassette tape.
When your done, Save it as a Wave File. Then you should beable to import it.

I'm not familar with ProTools but from what I hear they are pretty good about stuff.
If you still have a problem, lemme know, I have a link to a recording site that deals with ProTools.
