I mean Quiet.

I posted this is "Open Mic" but I can't seem to get back there. No topics at this time.

Anyway, How do I post a song or file so you guys can hear it?
I am a total rookie at this so pleae be specific.

I need to know how to get a song file from my PC to a link you can click and hear.
What format do I need to have it in in my PC, what format does it need to be when I upload it.

Again, please be specific, I know nothing about it.
I have Cakewalk Guitar tracks pro. So that is where I will be getting the files from initially.

Thanks for any help.

hi. you should get a website to start, upload it if your provider allows audio files. then just put a link to the site, and direct people where to go. if you don't have a site, if you want, i can post it on my site for you ( i can make you a personal page that is separate from my web base) and then you can take the link and post it here. I know i can post it because i pay for a business account. I don't know off the top of my head which free sites will let you have audio, but you never know. look around. then once you have your site, you can use the tools to upload the file. i don't know if that helps at all. What kind of music is it? Good Luck

OH. i forgot something. if it's cakewalk - you either want to export the file as an mp3 so people can download it from your site, or as a streaming audio file (people can only listen to it through their on-line media player), wav files tend to be too big. When you upload it (to save space) you can zip it too. but then people will only be able to download it.. which is fine. It's not as hard as it sounds. :0) take care.

Thanks for the help.

I am going to have to check on the Cakewalk software. I didn't see any option to export a file as an MP3. I think it only does .wav files. I am going to have to look into it more.

Thanks again.
