If this happens to you, be aware. I bought a Digidesign Digi 001 last year that came with Pro Tools LE 5.3.1 within the upgrade period for 6.x. I used it all the time and waited for my upgrade - it never happened. I don't know if it was because they didn't get my registration (I could've forgot, it happens) - or whatever. I contacted them, they said they hadn't received it, so I registered via email. They asked me what platform I was running on, I said Win XP (hey, a guy's gotta work, I don't have anything against Mac, upgrading my PC to close to the latest PC technology costs me usually around $300, can't really do that with a Mac, but I don't want to start a war here - believe me, if I could afford a Mac, I'd have one - and a PC too!) Anyway, they sent me Pro Tools LE, the Mac version, which does me no good, so I emailed them. They apologized and said they'd overnight me the PC version. I got the PC version, but failed to notice, IT WAS PRO TOOLS TDM. I happily installed...computer crashed beyond recovery. I had to reinstall Win XP. No big deal, didn't lose any data. However, I reinstall Pro Tools LE 5.3.1 (the original version that worked) ... crashed beyond recovery again. Looks like there were leftover drivers in the Pro Tools directory. The moral of the story: PAY ATTENTION TO THE VERSION FREE, LE OR TDM, BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE! (or get a Mac, I'm sure this wouldn't have been a problem) - anyway, sorry for the rant.

*Ahem*,
Finally got it working, sort of. I converted one of my recordings, but couldn't bounce to MP3, not enough CPU it says. I was only using one plug-in, removed it and it still didn't work - only 5 tracks. ARGHHHHH!!!

Make/model of your computer ..

Did you get the mp3 bounce option?

Make/model, what's that? Just kidding. Clone with an Intel p4 2.4 Ghz, put it together myself. I did get the mp3 bounce option. I think this has something to do with converting to the new Pro Tools 6.x format.
