What style? Who do you like? What songs would you like to play?

This is one of those areas where self-investigation can really provide self-motivation.

Keep your eyes and ears open. When you hear a song and something inside you says, "I could play that," you know you're on to something. Then, see if you can find the sheet music or tab for that song, and start working on it... or see if you can learn it by ear.

You don't have to think in terms of learning an entire song either. You may hear only a certain part of a song and have the light bulb go off.

I would recommend that you pick up some song books that have a lot of tunes you like.

Just pick a tune and start strumming your way through it and following the chord diagrams. That will get you playing some music.

Let the rest happen naturally. Don't force it if it isn't there for you right now. In the future it either will be or it won't be... doesn't matter.

You might also think about taking some lessons with a local instructor. Sometimes a person needs another person right there to explain and demonstrate things.
