Hey. I just need some more suggestions of some bands that use lots of power chords. I've got Nirvana and Green Day and a couple others from the lesson, but I'd like to hear some more suggestions. Thanks. http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/cool.gif

Hi CCR_SuzyQ, http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/color.gif
Actually, a lot of the 1970's and 1980's heavy metal bands are plum full of power chords. From Deep Purple, to Black Sabbath, to Rainbow, to Dio, to Iron Maiden, to Motley Crue, even Ozzy and etc.
However, those earlier bands might conflict with the 'alternative' style of music(i.e. nirvana and green day) if you would go out to perform for an audience who is expecting to hear more of a modern type of heavy music.
Nevertheless, some up-to-date heavy stuff that would not contrast to much would be Toadies, Bush, some STP, a little Pearl Jam, and Sound Garden. Consider even slipping in a recent Metallica tune. There is a lot of power chords in there progressions also.
I hope this helps out some
