What part are you having trouble with?

it's the main solo, the one at two minutes.
It's the fastest bit towards the end of the solo. It won't fit in the post so i can't show you. If you could give me the solo it'd be great.

I don't play the song... but I have that album (Lizzy is one of my fave bands). I'll check that tab against the recording, tonight, and let you know what I think.

I am actually checking this out, but I want to figure the solo out for myself by ear before checking the tab.... and haven't had enough time to get more than the first few measures.

it's ok, no rush.

my bad, i was in town today and i looked at a tab book and the solo is mostly right. There's some wrong bits though, so if you could straighten them out it'd help a lot.

Who's to say the tab book is right?

emm.....it was the official thin lizzy one, so i'd presume it's right.

try ultimate-guitar.com
they aren't the best but i know there are a few guys from this forum that post there.
me included.
i haven't checked out the tabbing but there should be a few versions.
i agree with SD on the tabbing in the book. I hate nothing more that tabbing a song myself, then getting it off the web and it sounding wrong, then buying the tab book and it being the same as off the web. All along my version sounding much better than either of them.

that's surprising to hear you say that. Do they not get their tab right from the people who wrote it? If so how can someone else's version be right?

Those tab books are put together by the publishing companies. The artists themselves very rarely have anything to do with it.

That being said, the artists would be the only people who would actually know how the parts were played... provided they can actually remember what they played.

The accuracy of a tab is dependent upon how good the transcriber is. The publishing company is going to have access to good transcribers, but these folks are not infallible. It's not at all uncommon to run into errors... even in the officially sanctioned tab.
