songs for band

If you're into playing Nirvana, try Come As You Are, maybe Brain Stew by Green Day. Maybe some Blink 182 songs too. I don't really know many of their song names, but the ones I've played have been pretty simple, I forget the names, I'll hafta talk to my friend tomorrow and get back to you on it.

Write your own material. I'm suposing that you are young. So it's cool to have a cover song band. But do try to write some songs of your own. Playing other people's music is one thing, but being applauded for your own is a real trophy.....

PS, If you want a song(s) that have easy drum, git, bass parts......it presupposes that you KNOW what YOU want to play and hear?? Yes? You guys get together and make that simple song happen on your own. "Commitee style" writing is great. It combines the talents of all the players. Try it!! Jimbo

Miranda? You have a band now? My apologies for saying you guys.....I have been so busy in the past months. But do Jam. Most great bands start as covers. Some great bands occasionally still do. Case in point: Aerosmith covered "Come Together" better than the original. Classic Van Halen covers etc. But writing your own is better. I never knew how to copy a song. I could never sit with a piano or git and play "Stairway to Heaven" or whatever. My brain won't work that way. I have only been able to write my own, and I always tell people to be creative..to search for the music from themselves not from other's who have "made it".

Another thing to do is to cover a song, but make it YOUR song...kinda like what Hendrix did to All Along the Watchtower.
