Does anyone know where I can find transcriptions and tab for John Scofield?
Thanks!
Wait, I totally forgot to add two of the most important words:
FREE and ONLINE.

I never find much free online when it comes to jazz guitarists.
I found this: http://www.guitarnotes.com/tabs/gtframe.cgi?http://www.mysongbook.com/Exercises/JazzLicks/Chords_By_John_Scofield.zip
I think you need Guitar Pro software to read these tabs though.
I can tell you one thing:
The John Scofield Jazz&Funk Vol1&2 VHS set has booklets, and Vol2 has a transcription of "Still Warm", which he also performs. $40 and change, but it might be worth getting.
I'm certainly thinking about it!! http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

i went to see john scofeild a few weeks ago...and well...if i went through the trouble to acurately transcribe that stuff...i would definately want some money for it.
i dont know what you want transcribed though...most of his stuff is highly improvised, so i think it would help you more to learn the proggresions and theory behind it...thats just me though.

(:
Of course, knowing a progression would enable you to improvise your own lines, but that's not the point of studying transcription.
You learn a language best by imitation first, THEN you develop your own styles.
I want to know the way John Scofield would improvise over a progression, b/c I already know how I would do it, and I prefer the way Scofield does it - everything from the phrasing, to the nuances like hammer ons, slides, etc.
Aright aright I was bein' a bit greedy wanting stuff for free... ><
All tabs out there have most likely been 'transcribed', perhaps not note-for note, but everything on harmony-central, mxtabs, guitartabs.com, that is all done by someone's ear.
BTW - how was the concert??? Are you a big fan of Scofield's???
Thanks for the reply!
