the speaker has two wires attached to it. pull them out.

you can see the speaker is screwed to the front of the cabinet with 4 screws... undo them and now u can take the speaker out

ok. the plan is to have a little plastic party plate cover the speaker, and then a tube come out of it, through the front of the amp. like so...

i bought the tubing from a diy store called homebase (uk) last night. i got 2 metres for under £5.

by chance, this plate is pretty much the same size as my speaker. i suppose you could take the speaker out, and take it with you to a food shop looking plates that would match. i just got lucky.

now i put the plate on the speaker hole and pushed it down to mark on it where i need to cut out for screwholes...

then i cut round the lip so that it wont be in the way of the screws holding down the speaker.

small problem. the plastic wont sit down all the way in the speaker hole because its a bit too big. finally i get to use the dremel...

just cutting it out a little bit at a small angle was enough to let the plastic plate sit down all the way so that the lip would be flat

ok now thats done, i took the plate out and cut a hole into the middle for the pipe to sit in.

http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/342/image049ww0.th.jpg (http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image049ww0.jpg)

then i put the pipe through, and i cut some slits down in so that i can spread them out and glue it down.

http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5999/image050we9.th.jpg (http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image050we9.jpg)

but first i held it down with some tape so that i could glue the other side... had some super epoxy from the discount store... mixed it 1 : 1 ratio...

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/2285/image051vh0.th.jpg (http://img251.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image051vh0.jpg)

after that i propped it up in a way that i can leave it to dry still... it says on the back that it goes hard after an hour and max strength after 4 hours, but im gonna leave it til tomorrow probably.

heres the way i glued it...

i done all this before i started the thread, im just waiting for it to dry now... (i actually put a bit more on... then ill have to do the other side... then poke it through the mesh at the front of the amp and put it back together... there'll be another update later on...
