I started playing guitar a few years ago. When I first started, I loved it and played constantly. Then I went to college and had less time to play. Now I am married, in college, and working so I really haven't played in a year or more.

My question is what are some easy songs that I could re-learn how to play on. Before, I never played anything "challenging". Mostly blink 182, greenday, ect.

I want something that I could play fairly easily, and learn some easy solo's. The only solo I can play is "Smells Like Teen Spirit"! http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

Hell nowadays you can pretty much play any new song coming out by the end of the song with a little ear training and chord knowledge. As long as you can hear a difference between open chords and barre chords, anything is easy. Punk is mostly 5th chords and some is even drop d tuning.

Yeah, lots of 5th chords in punk.

On soloing, learn some scales, and just play scales in the key of the song and it'll mostly sound good. Try pentatonic scales, minors, majors, and just move them. It all works out pretty much.
