Hi,

Some of you may know I swapped my epi pups for some SD Alnico II pro's. I have only realised today (Ive had them for a few weeks) that when I played on the clean channel that the Bridge (treble) pickup is a bit quiter than the rythm- I have checked all volumes etc.

What could be the cause of this? I can't notice is really on distortion,

Cheers

According to their website, the neck pup is 7.6k, and the bridge is 7.85k.

In a set of buckers, the bridge is always more powerful, because the strings vibrate less near the nut..... so it needs more power to compensate for the smaller vibrations.

If seems like this set was designed to have a more powerful neck than bridge... because a 0.25k difference seems very small indeed. I'm more used to high-gain pickup sets.... and they're usually have ratings of about 15k for the bridge, and 8k for the neck. Almost double the output on the bridge, to compensate for the weaker vibrations.

I'm guessing the set you bought are just supposed to be like that.

The other possiblilities..... are if you didn't buy a "matched set", you might have 2 with exactly the same output..... and there's also the possiblity you put them in the wrong positions.

I think the first is the most likley tho..... they're just meant to be like that.
