Seriously...learning/playing songs by bands you like is easier.

pink floyd's wish you were here, beautiful song great for more on the beginner side and only consists of G,C,D,Am and then it alternates to G,D,C,Am.... so your pretty much just alternating the two middle chords but for the intro its really easy just find a tab of it tabs of that song are everywhere

other song that are easy are horse with no name by america, most of bob dylans songs, anything where it consists of mostly chords

and yeah, "wish you were here" is a great song... i'm learning that myself (i'm a newb too, trying to get better)... the chords are pretty easy and the finger picking is a bit challenging cause you have to listen to the song and get it right but then you get the satisfaction... and when you learn it, learn to sing the lyrics too while you play (good for playing/singing to your girlfriend/boyfriend)

when you get a bit better and get a feeling for the chords and some finger picking, you can write your own song, maybe some lyrics then add music to it... good luck
