well when im playin my acoustic, im more of a finger picking kinda guy, but for starters try
1. dust in the wind - kansas
2. never go back again - fleetwood mac
3. landslides - fleetwood mac
but if those are a little to hard at first then just try some pretty easy onse such as wish you were here by pink floyd, and or tangerine by led zeppelin, maybe just the intro and the basic chords to that if it might be a bit hard. good luck

One of my favorites is Redemption Song by Bob Marley.

Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here? is a classic and nice and easy. Anything by Dylan, (assuming you have a capo) and what about **** Her Gently by Tenacious D - childishly amusing lyrics and sure to impress.

Oh, man, I love the acoustic stuff. I like to play along w/Toad the Wet Sprocket (all of them), R.E.M. Automatic for the People...Counting Crows translates well to acoustic play and practice. Great song on the new Hard Candy disc...Carriage...check it out.
Dust in the Wind...good choice, man! Classic.

Oh, and I forgot King's X...lots of good stuff on Gretchen, but each lp has it's good acoustic stuff.
Ty likes the drop D also, which I think is beautiful.

Carriage is an f-in awesome song. Come to think of it...most of their songs are. Sullivan Street is another great CC song that works well on acoustic.

I second the DMB vote.
Unfortunately, Billies doesn't sound as full without a band behind it.
Gravedigger sounds spectacular acoustic.

Try warehouse by DMB, it's not that hard and it sounds really cool. Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits also sounds good with an acoustic. A lot of Tom Pety is good also.

One Step Up -Bruce Springsteen. Ridiculously simple and satisfying.
Most of the stuff off of Joni Mitchell's Blue ablum played by Steven Stills.
Zep's The Rain Song sounds great acoustcally. I wish I could figure out how to play it in standard tuning - anybody know?
George Harrison's My Sweet Lord.

It's funny, but Tenacious D does have some pretty good acoustic stuff (like "Cosmic Shame" and "Keilbasa Sausage"). Dispatch has some good acoustic stuff, but most of it is pretty easy. Also, I really like Metallica's "One" and "Nothing Else Matters" on acoustic.
