Okay, so I've heard of folks converting older tube items into small, unique tube amps. I have some items that would be really cool if it were to work, so I need some assistance from the true techies out here.

I've got two Atwater Kent tube radios from about 1925. Here's a site with a pic of the model...

Anyone know if it's possible to make an amp from these?

Don't hack those up!

Those are very, very rare these days. The tubes are usually pretty tough to find (give me a list and I can check availability) and the wiring is not nice to change. The tubes the amp was made for are probably "primitive" and would not sound good in a musical application as well.

The real reason is the value of those on their own though. If they are in good condition you could get a very respectable amount of money for them. If I wasn't broke I wouldn't mind having one in my collection :). Hacking them into a guitar amp that may or may not sound good lowers the collectible value greatly, and you'd be pretty much killing a cool piece of history.

I liked to convert Bogen PA amps from the 50s and 60s. Find a good chassis and you'll have a good canvas to start with.

I really was just curious to see if it's feasible.

I'm sure the intrinsic value of them is great to someone who is a lover of them, but there isn't that much dollar value there. Even cleaned up they'd probably only get me 20-50 bucks each. Yes, that's a couple of dollars, but not really worth the hassle.

If you'd like to have one to play around with and you'll pay a few dollars for shipping, I'll gladly send it to you. Just gotta promise to update me if it's working in a few months.
