umm ... honestly, I didn't really like this one. I found I had to force myself to listen through the entire thing. It made me think of summer at guitar camp.

It dragged really hard for me. Felt like someone just practicing scales or something (kind of reminds me yngwie) .. nothing really to attach to and be pulled along with ... and didn't have that good vibe to it ... felt like the water droplets on a cold glass of beer when it seems like it should have been the ice cold beer in the glass ... I have felt the vibe in some of your other stuff (in fact, I think all of the others) .. just not this one.

I found the double tracked gtrs to be really distracting. Way too chaotic and definitely not tight enough (:17 - :34)

I do like the part from 3:12 til the end.

Great sounding performance, I just didn't groove the song. I've been trying to figure out what, on any level, you were trying to say with this piece.

Don't change it on my account. If you like it how it is, then that's what matters (unless you're trying to sell it, and then it's an entirely different ballgame.) You asked for an opinion, and I gave you mine. http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Ah i see i respect your opinion thanks http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif

but i dont think it sounds like practicing scales people always say it sounds like practicing scales when someone plays fast http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif

Besides i never practice scales http://www.zentao.com/ubb/smilies/tongue.gif

"people always say it sounds like practicing scales when someone plays fast"

I disagree with "always" - some people may, but I don't. In fact, you were playing fast on the other songs of yours that I heard and didn't get that feel at all. This one just feels very uninspired.

Like I said before, great performance and control .. I just couldn't get this song. I've listened quite a few times, too.

What were you trying to say in this song?

Are you the shakeel from HC??? If so i think i didnt some jams with you in the past.

Well in my opinion i think the reason that i didnt personally vibe with this tune is the mix was off - the gutiars seemed WAY too high in the mix. Then the gutiars would switch and one would be louder than the other. To me when the whole track isny commpressed properly it seems like its not really a song, more like some guys jammin over a drum machine - which to me makes me loose some interest. The background groove in this tune is really happenin, funk grooves like that make for great fusion lead lines.

I think the licks are great, as far as it sounding like your practicing scales, thats really in the ear of the beholder. Thats why jeff beck sounds totally different than jason becker, know what im sayin? To each his own.

I don't think it sounded like you were practicing scales.I think it sounded like a couple dudes who knew what they were doing threw something together. It could stand some polishing/editing and some practice. Obviously it was a little bit disjointed and thrown together. The licks were fine and there were parts to hang onto.It just lacked polish and structure.I can see where you are coming from though and I like what you are going for. You're obviously into shred and fusion and that's cool.Keep at it and one day an army of us will crush Mtv beneath our feet.

I think your a great lead player!
I like just about all of the chops
But the bass line was getting to me by the end of it all.
And I think you need to find a style or
theme for the song or atleast return to the theme more it seemed like you were just doodleing all over there for a while.
Use it need a change up on the beat/feel.
to releave that bass line hehehe.

I think a great guitar song needs stron theme and variations.
You have a Satrionish feel too.

I give it a 5

peace

I agree with everyone else. But, to each his own. I mean it sounds pretty good. It would be something left for an audition or something. I mean you can play pretty good lead. But, like that Sweden guy it tends to sound the same after awhile.

I would suggest listening to Joe Satriani. I mean he can play very good lead. But, he can also write very well. His songs tell a storey. And that is what you want to strive for. Most people don't want to listen to a bunch of shred guitar.

The song comes first. That means laying back some times to let the song breath. I am not saying this is easy.
