Except mine mite have a different wood for the body as it looks like a creamy colour I don't know anyways what do you think I could upgrade/change to get more tonal range out of it.

The Schecter site is sick so I can't see pics.

if it has H/Bs you could split them to get single coil sounds.......

I know this thread is way old but you are going to need a push pull pot. DiMarzio makes them along with a ton of others. you could also do this with a 5 way switch but it would be kind of a pain to solder up.

I'm not sure if you can tap the regular EMG' though. You said actives so I'm guessing that's what they are. EMG makes a EMG 89 which can be tapped and all of the EMG's are easy replacements.

I been wondering what is the difference if i just get an Epiphone G-400 SG for $299 and get Angus Young Signature Humbuckers For $145= $445
Or I could Get a Gibson SG for about $1300.
Epiphone seems a much better deal so what up that is there something differnet about the Gibson body or Hardware or am I just really paying extra for the name???? What Best??

There will be a difference in tone between the epiphone and the gibson because of wood used and manufacturing quality. You can upgrade a cheap guitar but play them both and find what you like best.

thanks for reply. But one other question, Is there a big difference between quality from a $799 Gibson like an sg compared to one of those that are $1200 and up. Finally got myself a decnt amp last month and Ive been looking for a relly guitar Ill be satified with probly Les Paul or SG,im not sure yet. All i have is $99 practice guitar right now. Got any advice on a next stepform that. something maybe $500 to $700. I Really want to get a guitar that I will just be satisfied with instead of just getting a little more expensive guitar every few years or something. !!Help??Me??Please

Do you have a guitar center near you or a fairly big music store. I suggest going to play guitars in the price range that you are looking at or higher and see how you like them in terms of feel and tone. There can be a difference between a 700 dollar gibson and a 1200 dollar gibson but i dont know for sure in terms of electronics and such that much of a difference would be like visual features maybe different pickups. Best bet is to play and go with what you like the best.

Also anyone know where I can get some black nickel pickup covers.Ah I looked quick at the pups and they looked like EMG's. Really that guitar looks a lot like a not so fancy version of my C1 Hellraiser. That's another reason I thought you had EMG's.

Well it depends on the sound you are going for. I have played a few shecters, the ibanez s series guitars are pretty nice. I personaly have a Paul Reed Smith, just find a guitar that catches your eye and play it. Then find another and play it. and so on and so forth.

Thanks for the advice.
Will the Ibanez s give me that joe satriani sound or is that mainly in the amp.
And what amp is that?

The only thing that will give you the Satriani sound is his fingers. But seriously if you want the Satch sound there are a couple things at bay. First some DiMarzio Fred & Mo Joe pups a nice solid Floyd Rose if you're whammying and he is currently using his signature JSX series of Peavey amplifiers. EL34 power tubes with 12AX7 preamps.
