I want to record onto my laptop.
Would it work if I found a cord that has two ends like the end of the cord on headphones, stuck one end into the comp where a mic can go, stuck the other end into the headphone one on my amp, and then play onto a program that I might be able to d/l (dont even know if there's a program out there that would let me do that)?
Did I make any sense?
Thanks

ok thanks, but is that the same as using the headphone one on the amp to the microphone one on the comp? So all i would have to buy is the right cord, an d/l that program.
what's cd in anyway?
sorry, never done this before.

Most soundcards have three jacks (input/output holes)... line in, microphone in and line/speaker out.

You'll probably have the best luck using the line in jack rather than the microphone in jack, but yes... with the correct cable, you should be able to do what you want.

Both the headphone jack on the amp and the line in jack on the soundcard are most likely stereo jacks... so you'll probably need a cable with a 1/4 stereo phone plug on one end and a, 1/8" stereo mini phone plug on the other end.

If you can't find the exact cable you need, you can usually find enough adapter plugs to make it work.

Radio Shack is your friend.
