I've been saying I was gonna post these for awhile, but kept forgetting....DOH!

Anyway....here's three simple 1-4-5 blues backing tracks in the Key of E, G & A. I made these for some of the students I teach and they seem to love them. Nothing fancy, just straight forward 1-4-5. Jam away & I hope they help you out. Enjoy!

Is there any way someone could send me a downloadable version of any of these? I have dialup, so the streaming media doesn't really agree.

This is the backing for the last track I recorded. In C, had to convert it from AIFF to MP3 for you.

You can "right click" the link and download it. Stick it in a file and have fun with her.

A slow simple straight forward bt to -if you like- have some fun with.
It is quite ! sloooooow 60 bpm and almost over-simple. 3 guitar tracks and a drum. looped a couple of times.

It's mine, no rights or whatsoever. If you like it, go along .
Please just leave me a note on the forum if you download and used it. (love to hear the results)

Nah :) it is not active in the charts :confuse:

Nice backing HBL, but me being on dial-up it's gonna be a long download at 9 MB.

If you could lower the bitrate and re-upload it I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks.

Jose,

Didn't catch this message earlier, sorry :/

I even did more :

I felt there was to much space in my last (noodle) backingtrack. Since I don't play bass, I found another way of making it sound fuller.
I added another guitar and an organ track.

Now I feel like playing against it myself :toohappy:

Again, no rights attached, enjoy and please let me now if it is of any use.

Have fun :)

Mhh, felt sorry about the parts I recorded and didn't use.
I added another rithm (overdriven) part and edit a track with me playing licks and left a few in the bt

Renamed to Chillin' the blues

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6976346

Btw both tracks in this topic are smaller then the original thumbsup

What is in it:

1 - Drums
2 - main guitar riff/rithm
3 - Supporting rithm guitar slightly to the left
4 - 2nd supporting rithm guitar, yes, slightly to the right
5 - 3rd rithm guitar overdriven autopan
6 - Organ
7 - some hbl licks and notes
---That's a lot for such a simple blues track

This is the final version

/Hans

There are tracks with guitar and bass in there also Jose if you dig around in the sub-menus (original too). Thanks again for the tip on that "other site" - working the copyright infringement issue....I'll keep you posted

Here's a TON of great tracks. Sorry, only WAV files. I have no control, just passing the love along.

Here's a link to the page it's hosted on - http://www.lawrencefritts.com/backingtracks.html.

Big shout out and thanks to Robert B at Blindmans Blues

I have finished a yearlong project to record as many 12-bar blues backing tracks as I could. These were done with live, professional musicians playing head arrangements. These are not MIDI, looped, cut and pasted, or played like a robot. I can boast about the quality of these since I didn't play--I was just the money guy. The project was funded by a University of Iowa undergraduate research program. My assistant organized the sessions, booked the musicians, and even managed the budget. He also played drums on the recordings.

I think there's upwards of 40-60...I lost count. :)

They're actually in the AIFF format. I just downloaded another 11 (have almost all of them) and reformatted them.

I can't direct link thanks to AOL's recent boner, so if anyone wants something, I can e-mail them a few at a time.

My bad, good catch. I forgot about that thanks.

EDIT - I have DBPower amp too and I may convert some of these over to MP3, just depends if I have time.

I open the AIFF file in Goldwave, once it opens, I just hit "save" and it just saves as an mp3. Cool freeware! Takes about a minute.

Be cool brother Cane!

Jimi..thanks for the tracks....working with the E and A tracks...but I have a silly beginner improv question.
Can you tell me what chords are you using here??? Im trying to train myself to target the chords in the progression...but I dont know what they are:o

hey pygs. that is what is meant by the 1-4-5. I'll demonstrate using the key of E. Its usually written I-IV-V. It's the basis for most blues. Using a minor pent or blues scale over these chords should work more times than not.

I (root) - E
IV (4th chord) - A
V (5th chord) - B

Ok..cool. Im semi familiar with the terms.....but I guess my confusion is...whats the scale or formula for the 1 4 5......is that based off the intervals of the major scale???? or something like that?

ANGRY PYGMY
May 28th, 2009, 09:06 AM
Ok..m pretty sure its using the major scale formula(had to check my book..

So for the key of A ,BT...we get A D E....right?

^Jimi...when I get something worth hearin.lol, Ill put it up in showcase. Im still buildin ,my improv skills from the ground up. Got a few cool licks Im happy with, but need more. Im also working on trying to use a few chord shapes from the scales to fatten the sound, and a little more call/response(both of those were recc. to me from my last Showcase improv)
When I post it up..Ill tag it with your name so its easy to find..Might be a while, might be soon, not sure how its gonna go yet
