I bought this movie for my daughter and just got around to watching it last week. The interpretations of the music is excellent!! I thought they did an amazing job and this is a great movie. If you like The Beatles, check this movie out!

Wow, I just watched it last night actually.
I usually hate covers of beatles songs but a lot of them were pretty impressive and there were actually tons of Beatles references besides the songs themselves, which was cool for the guys like me that can catch them :).
The standouts I think were Bono singing "I am the Walrus" and a guitar version of "A Day in the Life". Absolutely incredible.
It was really weird, but very, very well done. I really enjoyed it.

I've been meaning to post a thread about this movie for awhile.
But yeah, this movie is pretty much my favorite one, i really like 'I am the Walrus.'
I would pretty much recommend it to anyone.

I'll keep that in mind.
"Backbeat" was another good one about some poor Liverpudlian artists

My son and I saw it when it was still in the theaters. We are both Beatles fans and really liked the movie. We will definately rent it through Netflix or may just buy it to have around.
I liked the visuals in Strawberry Fields. That was great on the big screen.

The movie isn't about The Beatles, though it is set in their time and partially in Liverpool, but it's more of a story set to their music. I went into it thinking it was about the band and was sitting there thinking, "Yeah.... and when do we meet the boys?" But it's a good story with interesting characters and it's brilliant visually and aurally. The cast did their own singing and in some scenes did the singing live in the scene, which added to the authenticity of it. I Am The Walrus was one that I liked least, oddly enough, because I love Bono's voice, but I didn't care much for his delivery of it in places. Come Together, however, was smoking and I Want You was done extremely well with some fantastic imagery. The whole soundtrack was very well done and I loved the movie just as much the second time.

Thanks for the tip Six. I have been hanging with my wife in the evenings renting and watching movies. Thus my absence on the boards. I will definitely check it out.

Meh, I thought it was okay, like the Beatles, only about 35% more gay. I'm sorry I just felt MOST of the song renditions were a bit melancholy and limp to me. Thought the plot was a bit weak, and the connections of the songs kinda strained. Cool flick overall though. I mean as musicals go, might as well have one with decent music. A few of the tunes really worked out well, the rest were kinda bland to me.

Yeah, he played three different people singing it. It was a cool scene.
