I wrote this today. Things have been emotional here where I am. A lot of health problems going on with my family. So I wrote this song as an outlet. Hope everyone enjoys, or can atleast associate with it.

Minutes

Intro: Spoken
You know it’s funny, but as a child when we think of time, it seems to go by so slow.
But as an adult thinking back over it all, it only lasts but a minute.
verse
I remember back in 94,
I got on one knee next to your car door
In the pouring rain, heart pounding in my chest
verse
Then in just 5 months We said I do
You looked at me as I looked at you
From that moment on, every year has been the best.

chorus
Till death do us part just ain’t enough
Through sickness and health, when times got tough
For better or worse, through good times and the bad
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes that we had

verse
Back in 99 when our son came
And on that day our lives were changed
You became a mom
And me, I became a dad
verse
Then in two short years
There came a girl
And with every smile,
She changed our world
As they grew up, we thought time was all we had.

chorus
Till death do us part just ain’t enough
Through sickness and health, when times got tough
For better or worse, through good times and the bad
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes that we had
bridge
From the Rose I bought for our first date
To the flowers they lay on my grave
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes that we had
A minute here, a minute there
A lifetime goes by without a care
And as I look back on all the minutes past
I wouldn’t trade a lifetime, for the minutes that we had

If you coudn't tell it is about the last 14 years I have spent with my wife. I just want her to know that I cherish every minute of those 14 years.

some of the best songs are the ones written with the heart felt feelings you show in this song, nice work.

Have mad some lyrical changes to help with flow. Have developed the rythm and chord structure as well. So far it is sounding nice. I do have a rough copy recorded, but will wait to post until after I get it finished.

Thanks to all that read.

You know it’s funny, but as a child when we think of time, it seems to go by so slow.
But as an adult thinking back over it all, it only lasts but a minute....

It all started way back in 94,
I got on one knee outside your door
In the pouring rain, my heart was pounding in my chest

Then in just 5 months we said I do
You looked at me as I looked at you
From that moment on, every year has been our best.

Till death do us part just ain’t long enough
Through sickness and health, when times got tough
For better or worse, through good times and the bad
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes, the minutes that we had

It was back in 99 when our son came
And on that day our lives were changed
You became a mom
And I became a dad

Then in two years there came little a girl
And with every smile, she changed our world
Watching them grew up, time was all we had.

Till death do us part just ain’t long enough
Through sickness and health, when times got tough
For better or worse, through good times and the bad
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes, the minutes that we had

From the Rose I bought for our first date
To the flowers they lay upon my grave
I cherish you through the good times, and the bad
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes, the minutes that we had

A minute here, a minute there
Time goes by without a care
And as I look back on all the minutes past
I wouldn’t trade another lifetime, for the minutes, the minutes that we had

This flows much better now. I will try to post a recording tomorrow.

Pardon the recording quality. It is all due a lack of knowledge, equipment, and most of all talent. Thanks for listening.
