I wrote this today. I have been wanting to write something more uptempo. Think: Montgomery Gentry/Toby Keith type of song.
Well here is what I got.

All American Guy
By: Chris Ballard

My truck is American made
With some gas in the tank
And it’s American Owned
By Me and the Bank

And on Friday night
I drive it straight to town
To buy American beer
Just to wash the week down

Pre-Chorus
Cause I work hard all week
And I don’t mind….

Chorus
I’m just your
Average…Everyday
Overworked…Underpaid
Working two jobs
Just trying to get by…..
All American Guy

I fly an American flag
High in my front yard
It reminds me everyday
Why I work so hard

But working two jobs
Ain’t making a dent
Cause all the money I got
Is barely making my rent

Pre-Chorus
But I’ll keep doing what I’m doing
And I know I’ll survive

Chorus
I’m just your
Average…Everyday
Overworked…Underpaid
Working two jobs
Just trying to get by…
All American Guy

And there’s All American guys
All across this land
Making ends meet
Using there two hands

And they’ll keep doing what they’re doing
Cause they know how to survive

They’re just your
Average…Everyday
Overworked…Underpaid
Working two jobs
Just trying to get by
All American Guy

Wow, that's great, it's like Bruce Springsteen meets Jeff Foxworthy. I mean that in the best possible way. Great job.

Thanks Mr. Boston, I will take that the best way I can. :D

Thanks Reags and Millrat too. I felt like I wanted to bust out of the ballad rut I was stuck in. I wanted something fun with a little attitude.

Thanks for reading.
