Hey guys, I really appreciate you taking the time to hear me out and then maybe giving me some advice... cheers :D

I currently own a Yamaha Pacifica 112L, a Boss ME-50, and a pretty fast computer. I would like to start recording and mixing my own demo songs, and I would also like my Boss ME-50 to handle most of the effects. So according to what very limited knowledge i have on digital recording, I would need the following to get a decent sound.

Top of the line soundblaster sound card (im thinking a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro External)

Software

and some kind of Virtual Amp, like a Behringer V-Amp 2 or something. I wont have enough money for a real amp that'll connect to the computer (all i have right now is a Peavey rage 158).

If this is all right, what would be the best way to connect this all up, and what's the best program to use for what im looking for. Im getting a guitar upgrade soon so that'll come later. (oh and im looking for a mic especially for vocals).

Any thoughts welcome.

After researching the subject alot more, it appears something like an M-Audio Delta 44 would do alot better job than a sounblaster, is this right?

Now all i need is suggestions for a virtual amp and the right software, and away i go.
