Ok... what am I doing wrong here, LOL! How do you embed a video from youtube using BB code?

To embed you need to take the URL of the video and look for where it says v=Som3sTr1nG where Som3sTr1nG is a random string used to identify the video.

In a URL anything like this with an '=' after it is part of a URL parameter, JS uses this, /showthread.php?p=1198268 that's part of this thread's URL, the ?p=1198268 is a URL parameter, when more than one URL parameter is used they are separated using '&' this signifies the end of one parameter and the start of another so basically, take the URL of the video you want to embed, find the v parameter and copy its value (Whatever is between the '=' and the '&' [If there is indeed an '&' in there]) and paste the value between [youtube ][ /youtube] tags (without the spaces in the tags).

So [youtube ]Som3sTr1nG[ /youtube] with no spaces will embed whatever video is identified by Som3sTr1nG, make sense?

What you tried to do was post the HTML used to embed a video I believe, and the forum doesn't allow HTML code to be used, it leaves it open to some pretty nasty insertion techniques!
