Very drunk, but came up with a few ideas and just started writing it then.

It's in a tuning I call D Eastern tuning, DADAAD, having 2 strings tuned the same gives you some cool sitar like sounds. But this song I'm guessing is in Dminor (god only knows what notes I'm playing, thats why I like random tunings!)

"Empty Spaces"
Shes been in my dreams, In empty places, in sleep
I thought I saw her smile, Through falling tears, tears which burn scars
I saw her lips move, Don't know what she couldnt say

Aint it funny, how it all turned out

Wake up alone, In darkened woods, with tortured thoughts
Moonlight etches, Shadows on the ground, shadows of trees
Shadows of me, And things that could have been

Aint it funny, how it all turned out

(upbeat)

Sunlight burns my eyes, Now the fog is clear, can finally see
Empty spaces, where you used to be, Filling them with pain
Happiness, happiness
Happiness without you.

Still got some work to do,

I have to say that this is a very good attempt and I like it a lot. Would also like to listen to the guitar tune. Its like a story, so I would like to listen to it as a whole.

Keep it up bro.

Its kinda a trip through a hell of a time I've had this year with a girl, basically the progression through what I was feeling, each verse it kinda goes from everything being screwed up in the beginning, to me being absolutely lost and down, and progressing to happiness again.

it's by no means finished, just quick ideas, I only started writing it last night I came up with the first few lines and the idea for the song while I was out drinking.

Thanks for the comment though, glad its not overly cheesy or anything :)

Nice!

I really like "Aint it funny, how it all turned out" and can imagine that being used as a really cool chorus in any number of ways.
What sort of genre is this?
I don't know why, but I'm imagining that chorus done in a country rock style.
