Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could be kind enough to demonstrate for me playing at the bridge and muting. I notice that when I am playing I tend to make unwanted notes sound just by moving around the neck with my fretting hand and it makes me sounds really sloppy. Thanks guys.

What exactly do you mean by playing at the bridge? Are you playing with a really distorted tone? Are you getting noise across strings or just when you move your hand along the fretboard? I'll do a video, but I'd just like to know more specifically what you're looking for.
Were you also the guy who made the thread in technique talk about unwanted string noise when bending as well?

Yes it is he!
Here is the link to the original; thread
http://www.jsguitarforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90913
If you read that post again you will find he picks and strums close to the
neck which is fine but he is not sure about how to play near the bridge or palm mute there.
And also when he bends he clunks into other strings.
On the bending problem I suspect he is lifting the string above the string he is bending and
then it is snapping back off.
When I bend with say the third finger my first finger mutes the string above it
So my guess is that he needs to work on right and left hand muting
as well as not doing a pull off when he should just be lifting a finger straight off a string.
I figured I could answer for him just to speed up the deal here.

Here's a video. Let me know if this helped at all. It's very difficult to really break down something like this, because the longer the play the more you forget how difficult and tedious the basics were.

Wow! very helpful thanks for taking your time to help me out fendershredder I really appreciate it and thanks for the assist strat rat. These are all things that I never even considered, because for some reason when your first learning how to play it never really comes up. I have been playing for about a year and never really noticed this problem. Then a couple weeks ago i started learning the solo to Stairway to Heaven and thats when I really started to notice all these things.
