Stray Dog

I write alot of lyrics, and some of them look a bit silly or empty without the music, and I like to think some of them work really well even without the music.
Here's one that I really like...
LOOKING UP AT THE SKY
To the man looking up at the sky, I've seen you out at night
I think I know where your roving heart is resting now
To the man with no reply, who's watched the stars so bright
I think I've seen your shaken body time and time again
It's a restless life when you settle down, I can tell you this 'cause I've been there twice before, I'm sorry but your heart won't cease to keep knocking on your door
If you can see this sign then you're better off, when you know all the names of the men who have burnt their lives away by looking up at the stars in the sky at night
To the man looking up at the sky, can't you see the clouds so deep
If you don't get back on the road the rain's gonna drown you in your sleep
I think I've come up with a good reply, if you look inside my book
If you follow the pages then you can get yourself unhooked.
