What's up guys?
Here's a song my drummer wrote MOST of the lyrics for, and I put the music to it. I was pretty psyched about it cause as a songwriter I've never really done it that way. I usually START with the music and then write words based on what the music evokes.
I don't have any decent recordings of it yet, but I'll post one when I can. Anyway he wrote the first verse, the chorus, and most of the second verse. I wrote the last stanza of Verse 2, (I bolded my contribution) and I sorta cleaned up ALL the words a little bit to fit the cadence of the song better.
Anyway here you go:
"Invisible"
Taking a vacation
Somewhere far from here
A distant destination
Just to disappear.
Looking for a change of scenery
A day unlike today
A brand new direction
To lead my world astray.
Chorus:
Getting on the road,
Spinning that wheel.
It doesn't matter how I get there
Or when I eat my next meal.
The further that it takes me
The closer I feel,
Off the grid,
Invisible.
Searching just to make it real.
As the miles slip past me
I begin to see the light.
Truckin' down this highway
Everything feels right.
A Chance to be anonymous
To take what life will send
To find the home I've never seen
And meet the man I've never been.
