[Midwest Empty]

This is another that I worte while living in VA several years ago. A friend came to me with the progression for the verses (Am, F, C, G), the first verse, and half of the third. I wrote the chorus (Am, F, G, E, F, Am... which actually gets deliciously meaty, guitar-wise), the second verse, and half of the last. I can't say that I drew too heavily from personal experience for my portion, but I'm fairly certain that he was reflecting on a relationship where he felt pressure to fix everything that was wrong in the girl's life. Anyhow, it was a really fun song to play, as we had some great harmonies going. If I get around to recording it with both parts I'll post it.
