Can anyone suggest an inexpensive software package that I can use with my PC? What I want to do is mic my amp and record it on the computer. I do not want to do a line out from the amp, and I do not want to go directly into whatever device the PC uses.[edit: that is, guitar directly to the PC]
I'd prefer some software with which I can record at least four tracks. I like the Tascam packages that they have in stores, however they seem to all use tapes. If someone knows of a system that records directly to CD then that will work, too. Although that sounds a little pricy.
