I want to install Schaller strap locks on my Heritage "Blues Deluxe" guitar. It is approx. the same size and thickness as a Gibson ES-336 or ES-339. The strap button closest to the neck is on the back of the guitar about an inch into the body next to where the neck connects and is centered to the neck. The strap button mounting screw is 1" long unlike the strap button mounting screw on the bridge end which is 1.5" long.

Does anyone here know the length of mounting screws that come with Schaller strap mounts?

Has anyone here installed strap locks on a semi-hollow body similar to mine? If yes, did you have to modify anything? If yes, what hoops did you have to jump through?

Please advise,

Three hollow bodies here have strap locks.

Each was a little different.

Hoops...

On one I didn't want to plug and redrill a hole... The screw that came with the guitar was fine but the head was too wide to pull inside the lock. So I ground the head thinner until it did. Its been great for over three decades.

The others just went fine, no mods. The screws were the same diameter so nothing to do.

Only other thing, the Gibby ES-150 has a trapeze tail piece. Luckily the strap lock fit inside the hole in the tail and all was well.

I did use the felt washers that came with them...gave them a better fit up against the guitar and didn't harm anything on the finish.
