Maplebaby, ToneDR, Dale, whichever you like to be called, Thanks!!! I don't comment much, but I thought I would this time just to say you are a wonderful teacher. Very enjoyable. I've seen all your video's and they are very entertaining as well as educational.
Thank you very much for taking the time to record and post your videos. You have brought much joy to my musical education.
Thanks again,

I was listening to this on the studio album (CD) on my way back from Louisville to Michigan and it soulds to me like the last chord in the intro and verse is a closed chord with no open strings. I seem to be able to hear the jangling of open strings in the first three chords but then the jangle goes away for the last chord.
Your thoughts?

hello Al, thanks for taking your time to watch/listen to the video and i appreciate your kind post!
you were in my 'neck of the woods' in Louisville, i'm about an hour away.
I feel pretty confident that the chords i use on the video for the intro/verse are the same as Mr. JM uses - mainly because i've watched oh a dozen or so videos of him playing it and it exactly where his fingers land. Also studio records, can to my ears, sometimes be misleading. he could be just putting more emphasis on the A, D, and G strings which are fretted on the recording. I do think it is great you listen with a guitar players ear!
all the best,
dale

Thanks Dale!! Yes, we're moving from just outside of the Detroit area to Louisville due to a new job my wife started lasted week. She's down there now and I'm up here in Michigan trying to sell a house. Not the best of economic times to be selling a house!!
Thanks for the response!!!
