My freshly setup JEM7vwh in action (2 Vai covers) :-)

Just finally sorted the JEM with a decent setup, balanced trem and so on. Get her a spin last night with 2 vids:

For the love of God

Windows to the Soul

My 2 favourite tracks

Keep Rocking!

Thanks guys, they are about the only 2 tracks of his I can play moderately well lol I do need to move on to some new ones but just don't have the time to dedicate to learning them these days.

I just listened to for the love of god, and boy did you nail it. How long did it take you to learn it, I've been playing it for 3 months, and the majority of it is still improvised because I can't play the original part.

Uhhh you forgot to button like half your shirt...if that was intentional it is pretty distracting and takes away from the playing lol (sorry it just had to be said). Even here in Italy people don't unbutton more than 2 buttons unless they are modeling perfume or something lol (might I add after watching a few Vai vids even he doesn't unbutton more than 2)

The playing was phenomenal though and the guitar sounds and looks great...just remember you don't need to show off your chest on a youtube vid showing off your playing because the playing is just absolutely astounding by itself!

Haha good call about the shirt! My buddies have said that too. I was trying a different look - think 80s style but sadly it seems to ahve back fired a little Point well made though lol

I learnt it pretty my by ear, although I did print off the tab for it and just double check a few parts to make sure I was on the right track. Its not note perfect throughout and am sure you'd spot that if you compared them. I've been playing them both for about 4 years now, couldn't say how long it took to learn them, it was kind of an evolving process.

I would love to be able to play Tender Surrender but somehow I just can't seem to even get the intro right!

Ooo... its really goood playing there, I like the first cover - really good sound. In the second one the sound of guitar ... hmm... is it too much gain ? Anyway great playing and for me this first song is much better (for me of course) and I think its really good cover. About second cover... (great playing as well - I like your tapping) but the song its too much shred and too less melody - for me of course Ok, for me its enough to write in English, but I hope so U know what I want to say.

Anyway 5/5 a both of video

Hah the shirt again, oh no, OK next time its done up

Yeah I agree about the gain in the 2nd track Windows to the Soul, I think the delay level was a touch too high as well. Its really hard though trying to get a vai like sound considering all the equipment his guitar goes through before it arrives at an amp!

cheers

Sorry to dig up an old post, but your playing is AMAZING! That is by far the best cover I think I have ever heard. Massive props to you for that work. I'll even forgive you for the excessive display of flesh. LOL. Please post some more vids.
