We are an all ages based forum with rules set in place and strictly enforced. Please read them and abide by them at all times.

While your membership here is valued, it is a privilege,, not a right. Please respect our house and the members within.

Members that do not abide by the rules will find themselves banned.

Roles and responsibilities by our staff members:

Administrators and moderators serve many purposes on this Website.

1) To protect the owners' vision of this website as a family friendly, safe, musical community.

2) To protect the owners' investment in this Website by keeping out materials which could put the owners at civil or legal risk.

3) To protect the contributing members of this forum from less considerate individuals who may want to use this board for selfish purposes.

4) To be here when you need help in any way regarding the site.

We respect all members that respect the site, the Owners/Admins/Moderators wishes and the other members as we are members ourselves.

Acceptable use policy and user agreement. Read carefully before joining or posting in Jam Session.

Personal responsibility:

1. Do not share you account or allow another person to post under your username. If the staff feel your account has been comprimised, it will be banned until the issue is resolved via Email from the Managers.

2. Personal attacks and racial slurs are strictly prohibited. If staff see any type of bashing of anothers beliefs be it religous, political, or personal, the offending member WILL be banned without notice and an Email sent by the managers.

Counter attacks WILL be dealt in the same manner. It is our job to handle the issue/s, so contact a Moderator or Manager.

Unacceptable behavior/content:

1. Absolutely no pornographic images, files or links are allowed. Likewise, there shall be no graphic verbal description of pornography or sexual acts of any kind. These same rules also apply to any forms of cruelty, violence, and death.
Any violation of this rule will find the member/s banned quickly and permanantly.

2. The posting of YouTube links are permitted, but links to copywrited material, links to P2P or any file sharing sites are not allowed in any sections of the forum. Failure to comply with this rule could result in a temporary or permanant ban.
*addendum*

Any discussions regarding Pirated Software in any shape or form is no longer permitted in Jam Session.

Any threads containing this will be deleted without warning. You won't be banned the first time, but you will get a polite PM from one of the staff stating this new rule. If, after a PM you create another one, you will be banned. The time line will be left up to the discretion of the Moderator.

Furthermore, members that wish to post questionable links must contact a Moderator or Manager before hand so it can be cleared.

If you do not abide by this ruling, and post the links, the thread will be removed, and your account will be suspended without notice, and an Email sent by the Managers.

3. Swearing is not allowed. Filters are set in place. Anyone caught trying to get past the filters will be locked out.
This is a family based forum and we will keep it that way. We don't come to your house swearing, so don't do it in ours.

4. Absolutely no spam! Any member caught will be banned outright with no warning.

5. No solicitation of money from either the staff or the members.

6. Open discussion of mod activity as it pertains to specific bans, time-outs, edits and deletions will not be discussed out in the open. If a member is banned for any reason, or a thread removed/edited/closed, it will not be talked about unless it is with the member/s affected via PM or Email.

7. Threads containing or condoning the abuse of animals or any living thing is strictly prohibited in any section of the forum. There are no exceptions. Also, disscussions about illicit/illegal drug use, how to obtain illicit/Illegal drugs are not allowed in the Open Mic or any other section of the forum, including the Mosh Pit.

Forum etiquette:

1. Please post in the appropriate forum. Please read all forum descriptions so you know where to post. Keep your posts revelent. The sections are not to be used for useless posts (IE: "what do you like on you hamburger") Keep it real. Threads like these will be removed without notice.

2. No thread hijacking or off-topic posts. Doing this defeats the purpose of posting, and causes flaming.

3. No trolling of threads/ posts allowed. If we see trolling, the member will be notified. continued trolling after a warning will result in a suspension without notice.

4. No multiple posts or posting the same message in multiple forums. This is considered spamming. If you are here to get your post count up to get some features, Sixstring or Keith will reset your post count to 0.

5. This is a guitar forum, not a medical clinic. All threads or posts asking for medical advice will be deleted.


6. Any form of gender, sexual preference or musical genre bashing is absolutely prohibited. Members found in violation of this will recieve one warning from either a moderator or mananger. A second violation will result in being denied acsess to Jam Session for no less than 1 week.

7. All disagreements with users or staff will be handled in private, via e-mail or PM. (private message) All complaint correspondence shall be directed towards Sixstring or Keith only. Complaints directed elsewhere will go unanswered.

Special circumstances:
Some (or all) of the boards may contain an addendum to these rules that must also be obeyed. Forum-specific rules will be listed as a “sticky” in said forum.

Signature policy:
You are allowed a total of 2 hyperlinks in your signature field. Acceptable link types are:

1. Personal homepage. (No corporate sites, contests or advertisement sites allowed. And no, a forum you run is not a personal homepage-- that's a forum.)

2. A site that contains samples of your songs, or entire songs, available for download or streaming at no charge. (example: SoundClick) Links to corporate, dealer or personal sales sites are not allowed and will be removed.
This is a non-profit forum, so you don't have the right to make a profit using Jam Session.

Links to your homepage can also be added in your profile. All links must comply with the acceptable use policy of this board.

No other links types are permitted in your signature. Moderators will delete all other links without notice.

On the part of sig lines, we allow quotes and wordings, but keep them small. If they are large, or have multipul quotes or gear equipment listed, they will be removed without warning.
Political quotes or religious quotes that deem a controversial or a one sided opinion will be removed.

As always, please be careful not to give out too much personal information here, or anywhere on the Internet. Protect yourself- protect your privacy!!

Bottom Line:
This is a moderated board, not a democracy. Anything deemed by the moderators to be in bad taste, hateful, or potentially offensive will be deleted. All rules of conduct will be strictly enforced at the sole discretion of the Jam Session staff. Staff members can be clearly identified by the following titles:

Moderator
Manager
Club Owner
