Leader not leading

Our bands leader is always stopping our practice so we can hang out with his annoying fan club (school friends) when we all rather play music.

ditto. I'd keep on playing. That would be the "nice" way to disagree with him. heheh.

you could hire a hit... but that seems a bit drastic. So lets stick with keep playing

Me and my friend decided we're just going to tell him no next time he surprises us with his fan club. We'll ignore him and keep playing.

This is really the best solution. Either he'll get the hint or he won't.

Exclamation the great idea

This one is easy to solve, just start a new band and tell the band leader to hitch a ride to the desert.

This happened to me once, the band leader was scared to sing! He said he was the leader and could do anything he wanted. We kicked him out!!

Cool

There's a time and place for everything.

Someone should tell this guy that people who are not in the band should not be at rehearsals.

And if that doesn't work or can't work or he doesn't agree, then at least tell him that when said 'fan club' arrives, you guys need to keep rehearsing, and then he can greet the 'fan club' on the next break. If it's a 'fan club' they should shut up and listen in rapt attention -- they are lucky to see a rehearsal.

Tell your bandleader to get with the program and quit inviting his personal Yokos to the practice. If he doesn't stop, pull a Paul Mccartney and assume leadership.

Amazing, I just made two Beatles refrences in one post.

Yeah, just set some groundrules. There should not be any outside people at band practice, period. I refuse to allow it in my band for good reason. We don't need friends, girlfriends or anybody else wasting our time. Practice is not performing, and we're not putting on a show in our basement. If you want to see the band members play or just see them, do it another time.
